Lots, driveways, pasture, and overgrown acreage cleared and ready for the next step.
Land clearing is the job behind a new house, a new driveway, a pole barn, a pasture, or a lot that has been left alone for fifteen years. In Floyd County it ranges from a quarter-acre residential lot in town to rural acreage with mixed pine, hardwood, and thick brush. We handle residential and light commercial properties.
Land clearing is a different job from removing one tree. It means taking out everything in a defined area: trees, stumps, brush, vines, and the debris. The goal is a site that is ready for the next trade, whether that is a surveyor, a grading contractor, a builder, or a fence crew.
We start with a walk-through. You show us the boundary and what comes out. We ask you to mark trees you want to keep, such as a shade oak by the house or a hardwood at the lot line. Trees to keep get protection from the equipment path, and we avoid driving over their roots.
Then we fell the trees, cut them up, and clear the brush. Stumps can be ground in place, which leaves the topsoil in place and suits lawns, building pads, and driveways. On some sites a stump is hauled out whole, usually where grading will happen right away. We will tell you which approach fits your plan.
Cleared ground on a slope can wash out in the first heavy rain. If grading or building is more than a few weeks away, ask whether the stumps and root mat should stay in place, since they hold soil. Your builder or grading contractor can tell you what the site needs. We leave a site that matches their plan.
Stump grinding is included with clearing or quoted separately depending on the site. Large jobs often grind the stumps in place and leave the chips on site as ground cover. See stump grinding in Rome for how that works, or tree cutting if there are a few large trees to take down first.
We walk the property and give a free written estimate before work begins. The price depends on acreage, how dense the trees and brush are, the terrain, access for equipment, and how you want stumps and debris handled. We serve Floyd County and Polk, Bartow, Gordon, Chattooga, and Walker counties.
Tell us what is going on and we will get back to you with a clear, no-obligation quote.
